Soccer is the most watched and followed sporting event in the world. Both online and sportsbook players are big fans of the sport. As a result, more soccer-themed slot games have become available. However, one little-known game is the progressive soccer keno game, aptly name Soccer Keno Progressive.

The Board

There are little differences from keno except for one twist: the soccer theme. The game is played with a grid consisting of 80 numbers laid out on a horizontal soccer field. Each half of the field has five columns of numbers. From the nine total options available, the player must first pick a shirt color. When the player selects a number from the grid, a colored shirt appears with that number on the back.

The layout of the grid is conducive to the player becoming creative with their number choices. For instance, the player can choose numbers that consist of their favorite soccer formation on one side of the field. On the other hand, the player can create a formation on both sides of the playing field.

The Game

20 keno balls are selected and are rolled into slots. The pattern of the balls is representative of a soccer ball. Each one has a specific number marked on them. Finally, tiny soccer balls appear on the grid in specific number slots. If any of those match the selected numbers, the background changes to yellow and the sounds of cheering spectators is released indicating a win.

The Different Types of Keno Tickets in an Online Casino

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Playing Keno online is similar to playing Keno in a live casino. The rules of the game remain the same regardless of your playing setting. However, online casinos offer a few extras for Keno that are not common in land based casinos. When you play Keno in an online casino, you are offered several choices of Keno cards. These cards vary from the ones in land based casinos and offer more chances to win.

The Different Types of Keno Tickets in an Online Casino

Straight Keno Tickets: A straight ticket in Keno is a single ticket that lists all of the Keno numbers once. These tickets are typically used in land based casinos and online casinos. However, some online casinos offer you a chance to bet on more Keno numbers, up to forty.

Split Keno Tickets: A split ticket in Keno has two Keno boards on one ticket. These type of tickets give you a chance to play to separate games of Keno in one round, which doubles your odds of winning.

Way Keno Tickets: With a way ticket in Keno you have the opportunity to pick a large series of numbers. These tickets are specifically designed for betting in groups. If you prefer to pick individual numbers, you should stick with straight Keno tickets.

King Keno Tickets: With a king ticket in keno, you still have the opportunity to pick  large group of numbers, but one number is considered the “king.” This can mean different things in online casinos. For example, the wager may be higher on your “king” number.

Five Tips for Playing Keno

Friday, April 9th, 2010

If you ever find yourself waiting for a spot at a poker table and do not feel like playing the slot machines, you may want to consider Keno. Keno is a large board filled with numbers. The Keno dealer drops a ball on to the board, which lands on a number. The goal of Keno is to bet on the number the ball hits on the board. Keno is a largely based on luck, but there are a few techniques you can use to improve your chances.

Five Tips for Improving Your Keno Winnings

1. Bet on several numbers. One of the best ways to increase your odds of wining is to place more then one bet. Players are allowed to place bets on as many Keno numbers as they wish. Try splitting your bet in to two or more numbers on the board.

2. Place a bet on the top line. Every time you bet on the Keno board, be sure to place at least one bet on a number that falls in the top line. The top line of the board is hit five out of seven times on average.

3. Change your numbers when they pay off. Since the hits on the Keno board are random, you have a better chance of winning if you vary the numbers you play. After one of your numbers has won, switch to another number on the board.

4. Cover as much of the board as possible. Once the Keno ball is dropped, it can land any where on the board. Hedge your bets by covering as much of the board as possible. You do not have to place a bet on every number on the board, but try to separate your numbers so they cover the whole board, rather then betting on several numbers together.

5. Keep your numbers until they win. Once you have placed several bets covering a large area of the board, it is best to hold those bets until at least a few of them have paid off. The odds are the Keno ball will land on those numbers at some point in the game.

Remember that Keno is a game based on luck. While there is some strategy you can use to improve your odds of winning, Keno should really only be played for fun, or as a way to pass the time between poker matches.

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Keno is similar to Bingo. A player will place a bet on one or several numbers on the Keno board. A dealer, known as the “caller,” will then draw a number. If the numbers match, the player wins that round.

Shockwave Keno is played exactly like Keno with an added twist. In Shockwave Keno the Keno board is electronic and will randomly send a shockwave through the board. This shockwave gives players more chances to win. If a player’s number is chosen when the shockwave starts, the player’s bet is automatically increased.

Shockwave Keno is a popular game to play at the casino while players are waiting for a spot at a poker table or an open slot machine. Often, a caller will take number bets for several rounds and call the winning number over the loud speaker, so players have the option of playing more then one game at a time.

How Do I Play Shockwave Keno?

Shockwave Keno is one of the easiest games to play in a casino. A player can join in a round by placing a bet with the caller on one or several numbers. There are 80 numbers on the Shockwave Keno board to choose from.

Players are given one chance to up their bet on any of the numbers they have selected for that round, before the game begins. Once all bets have been finalized, the caller will select a keno ball from the board. While the ball is dropping through the board, if the shockwave is initiated a player has a chance to increase their bets. Shockwave bets are often doubled in most casinos.

To play shockwave keno at an online casino the player will select every number they want to bet on the playing board, out of the eighty numbers featured on the playing board. The player can choose to bet on as many, or as few, numbers as they wish. When the player has finished their selections they have the option of raising their bet on an individual numbers, or all their numbers or they can choose to keep their bet as it is and start their game.

Once the numbers are chosen, the player will give them to the caller and place a minimum bet on each number. The player has the option of raising their bet higher then the minimum on any number they have chosen.

Betting is won when the Keno ball lands on a number the player has selected. Players are paid on betting scales according to the casino. These scales should be listed right next to the Shockwave Keno board.

Simple Strategies for Online Keno

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Keno is said that have originated in ancient China, a time when it was used to finance wars and the development of the infamous “Great Wall of China.” You can imagine how slanted the house edge was back in those days, but today’s keno games are a little more favorable.   In this article we will show you a few strategies that can better assure a higher winning percentage online.

Conservative vs. Aggressive Tables

Most online casino games follow the same basic approach.  You check off between 1 to 15 numbers on your board and then 20 balls are randomly drawn.  You are paid out based on how many of those balls have numbers that match the numbers you selected.  The real difference lies in the payout structure.  In the game of keno, there are mainly two types of payouts table.  One table is more conservative as payouts usually do not rise to phenomenally high levels.  The other is more aggressive with payouts that typically start out at around 50% of the matching numbers and substantially higher payout amounts.

When trying to determine which table you want to play at, the best way to approach it is select the degree of risk you are willing to take against what type of return.  For example, if you conclude that you will not be satisfied with the returns provided by the conservative table, you may prefer to take the aggressive option.  If you are not a risk taker, then the conservative returns are probably suitable.  In either event, you should know what you are up against.  Conservative tables have an average payout ratio of 95.2% while aggressive tables are at 84.4%.

In addition, aggressive tables often have limitations that may prevent you from cashing out your entire winnings expressed in coins.  These are big differences you must take into account and more reasons why you need to think wisely about the type of online keno game you want to play.

Making Smart Bets

Many keno players are faced with the challenge of deciding how many numbers to mark on their board.   It is pretty obvious that the more numbers you check off, the greater the probability of some of them matching up with the 20 drawn balls.  Keep in mind however, that this also means that you must put down larger bets.  The good thing is that most games make it possible to calculate the average payout ratio.  Take Microgaming keno for example.  These games offer tables with a 93% payout ratio for 3 matching numbers.  As to be expected, selecting 14 to 15 numbers results in a greater average payout ratio at just above 95%.  However, 13 numbers on the board has an average payout of 96.5%.  Therefore, a good rule of thumb for the serious keno player is to mark off 13 numbers on the board as it gives you the greatest return.

Simple strategies like this can go a long way in helping you become a winning keno player.
