The Gagnante Marche Betting System Explained

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Over gambling’s long history several betting systems have been developed. These betting systems are always aimed at making the player the most money by trying to find a loophole in the luck of the game. Rather, betting systems come from the belief that you can beat the system if you just bet a certain way. Some times these betting systems do win players some money. Most of the time they don’t. Choosing to use a system is up to you, but it is helpful to know what these systems are and how they work.

What is the Gagnante Marche Betting Sytem?

The Gagnante Marche system is a method of betting that aims at hitting the streaks found across casino games. For example, occasionally a roulette wheel will hit a streak and the ball lands on black several times in a row. In the Gagnante Marche system you would be in on this streak because you would have been betting black all along.

How Does the Gagnante Marche Betting System Work?

In the Gagnante Marche betting system a player starts by placing a bet on the last color to win the round. For example, if a player walks up to the table and red was just called, then the player will place their bet on red. If red wins again, the player places another bet on red. If black wins, the player switches their bet to black. No matter what, the player always places their next bet on the last color to win. The theory is that eventually the color will hit a winning streak and the player will be in on it from the first round.

Does the Gagnante Marche Betting System Work?

The Gagnante Marche betting system has its strong points. There is a good chance that the wheel will land on a streak, and with the Gagnante Marche system the player is guaranteed to ride out that entire streak. The problem with the system is there is no way to tell if and when the streak will start. Meanwhile, the player is changing their bets haphazardly, waiting around for the streak. This can cost the player a lot of money in the long run, especially if a long time goes by before the wheel hits the same color more then once.

Is Online Gambling Really Illegal in the United States?

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

If you are an avid online gambling fan that’s concerned about the recent player account seizures, or alternately if you’re afraid to play online because you’re not sure if it’s legal, then you’ve probably spent some time pondering the title question. Is online gambling really illegal in the United States? Surprisingly, there is no easy or obvious answer.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act

UIGEA was passed in 2006 as part of the SAFE Port Act. The very name of this law implies that gambling is illegal in the United States, and yet even the UIGEA is somewhat vague about the country’s stance on online gambling as a whole. That’s because the UIGEA only specifically regulates American financial institutions’ involvement with online gambling; it does not address player limitations.

To date, no American players have been arrested for gambling online. In fact, most U.S. poker pros are open about how much money they earn playing online poker. The catch is that any American player caught transferring online gaming funds through their bank account could lose that money permanently to the U.S. government (and even some states).

Currently there are several bills circulating through the upper levels of the U.S. government that aim to regulate and legalize online gambling, but even as they are being considered other departments continue to seize online gambling funds. Oddly enough, while some officials work hard to discourage participation at online casinos and poker rooms, other forms of online gambling like off-track horse race betting are patently legal. Likewise it is legal to place bets via online sportsbooks based out of some states.

Further Online Gambling Clarification

There is currently no legislation that prohibits Americans from playing real-money casino games online. What is illegal is transferring online gambling funds through American banks. Because the United States has legally pursued not only the banks that have ignored these laws but the online casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms too many gambling sites no longer offer their services to American players. That said, many other casinos target their sites to an American crowd.

It’s a confused topic that many gambling industry insiders believe may be solved within the year. In fact, late in 2009 the implementation of the UIGEA was pushed back an additional six months while Congress considers the pros and cons of legalizing the practice of online gambling instead of banning it.

Introduction to Betting Systems

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Most players have a system in place for their betting, whether they are at the blackjack table, in the poker room, or at the slot machines. Gamblers want to know they are working their bankroll the best way possible. Several people have developed betting systems over the years. These systems often use a combination of strategy and math to determine when and how much a player bets. More often then not, betting systems like these do not work in the long run, but some do. Betting systems can be broken down in to three types.

The Three Types of Betting Systems

The Positive Progression

A positive progression, or let it ride, betting system is based on riding out a winning streak. It is a simple “go big or go home” theory. In a positive progression, a player will start out with smaller bets, then once the player starts to win they will increase their bet until they loose again. Once the player looses they will go back to their original bet or start to decrease their bets in increments depending on the positive progression betting system they are following. A positive progression is a good way to bet as it much safer then other betting systems.

The Negative Progression

A negative progression betting system works the exact opposite of a positive progression betting system. A player will start with a minimum bet, often of their choosing. If the player wins, they will keep their bet the same. If the player looses, they will increase their bet. Negative progression systems work on the theory that the game must turn around, and when it does the player’s higher bet will work out in their favor. However, the game does not always turn around and player’s can loose big this way.

The Insurance System

The insurance betting system is often considered the safe bet in the casino. With an insurance betting system, a player will start with a high bet. If the player wins, then they will lower their bet. This guarantees that the player will keep some of their winnings regardless of the next hand. Since the odds are at least one round will be a winner, the insurance betting system can be a safer bet. However, if the player hits a loosing streak they can run through their bankroll quickly by betting those high bets.

Five Tips for Playing Keno

Friday, April 9th, 2010

If you ever find yourself waiting for a spot at a poker table and do not feel like playing the slot machines, you may want to consider Keno. Keno is a large board filled with numbers. The Keno dealer drops a ball on to the board, which lands on a number. The goal of Keno is to bet on the number the ball hits on the board. Keno is a largely based on luck, but there are a few techniques you can use to improve your chances.

Five Tips for Improving Your Keno Winnings

1. Bet on several numbers. One of the best ways to increase your odds of wining is to place more then one bet. Players are allowed to place bets on as many Keno numbers as they wish. Try splitting your bet in to two or more numbers on the board.

2. Place a bet on the top line. Every time you bet on the Keno board, be sure to place at least one bet on a number that falls in the top line. The top line of the board is hit five out of seven times on average.

3. Change your numbers when they pay off. Since the hits on the Keno board are random, you have a better chance of winning if you vary the numbers you play. After one of your numbers has won, switch to another number on the board.

4. Cover as much of the board as possible. Once the Keno ball is dropped, it can land any where on the board. Hedge your bets by covering as much of the board as possible. You do not have to place a bet on every number on the board, but try to separate your numbers so they cover the whole board, rather then betting on several numbers together.

5. Keep your numbers until they win. Once you have placed several bets covering a large area of the board, it is best to hold those bets until at least a few of them have paid off. The odds are the Keno ball will land on those numbers at some point in the game.

Remember that Keno is a game based on luck. While there is some strategy you can use to improve your odds of winning, Keno should really only be played for fun, or as a way to pass the time between poker matches.

What is the Hutchinson Point System?

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

The biggest mistake Texas Hold ‘Em rookies make is to bet too many hands. Texas Hold ‘Em is a complicated game and newcomers often loose their bankroll simply by not knowing when to call and when to fold. The Hutchinson point system aims to help new Texas Hold ‘Em players play their hands better by giving them a simple playing vs. folding formula.

What is the Hutchinson Point System?

The Hutchinson point system rates your hand on a point scale. A hand with a higher point ranking will be played, while a hand with a lower point ranking will be folded. Players add up their hand’s points by adding the value of each card according to a ranking laid out in the system. The Hutchinson Point system is far from perfect, as it does not include any of the variances that factor in to Texas Hold ‘Em, but it is an easy way for beginners to narrow down their hands and keep from loosing their whole bankroll.

How the Hutchinson Point System works

When a player is dealt their first round of cards in Texas Hold ‘Em they will add up the value of those cards using a ranking scale. They will then use the total value of those cards to determine how to play that hand.

Point Values in the Hutchinson Point System

  • Number Cards are worth their face value, except for the ten card
  • The ten card is worth 11 points
  • The Jack is worth 12 points
  • The Queen is worth 13 points
  • The King is worth 14 points
  • The Ace is worth 16 points

When to Bet with the Hutchinson Point System

After a player adds up the total value of their hand, they will act out a betting action depending on their cards ranking

  • If a player is holding 30 or more points in their hand, they can play that hand from any position providing there are no raises.
  • If a player is holding 27 or more points in their hand, they can play that hand from the middle or late position providing there are no raises.
  • If the player is holding 25 or more points in their hand, they can play that hand from the late position providing there are raises
  • If the player is holding 24 or less in their hand, they should fold.

Overall, the Hutchinson point system is a good start for new Texas Hold ‘Em players, but any player serious about the game should learn strategies beyond this basic system

The Five Types of Slot Machines

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Not all slot machines are created equal. Each slot machine has different pay lines, bonuses, multipliers, and payout scales. Each slot machine has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. Knowing the five types of slot machines will help you determine which slot will have the best payout in the casino.

The Five Types of Slot Machines

Progressive Slots

In a progressive slot machine, several slot machines in a row are linked together. When a player at one of these slots places a bet, a portion of that money is added to a pot. The pot continues to rise as each player bets. One player at the stream of progressive slots can win the big pot if they land on a certain pay line.

Buy-a-Pay

In a Buy-a-Pay slot machine, payouts are determined by the amount a player is betting. For example, if a player is betting the minimum bet, he or she will only collect if the machine shows lemons and will not collect if the machine shows cherries or oranges. In order to collect on all the payout lines, the player must be betting the maximum bet.

Multiple Pay line

Multiple Pay line slot machines are one of the most common slots in a casino. In a Multiple Pay line slot, there is more then one payout line (typically up to nine lines.) The player can activate each payout line by raising his or her bet. For example, if a player is betting the minimum, he or she will only win on one payout line. To win on all nine payout lines they must be betting nine times the minimum bet.

Multiplier

In a Multiplier slot machine, payouts are multiplied by the amount of the player’s bet. For example, if the Multiplier slot machine uses a lemon as a winning symbol and the player is betting five times the minimum bet, then he or she would win five times the standard payout for the lemon symbol.

Bonus Multiplier

The Bonus Multiplier slot machine works the same as the Multiplier slot machine. A player is paid a multiple of his or her bet for winning symbols. However, the Bonus Multiplier slot machine offers a chance to win a bigger bonus for certain symbols. The only catch is the player must pay an extra coin on every bet to qualify for the bonus.

Take time to look at each slot machine in the casino before choosing one to play. By comparing how much you want to bet with the different types of slot machines, you can greatly increase your odds of winning.
